Time flies when you are being blessed...

Hello Readers...

Wow, have I been busy! I would have written sooner...well I wanted to write sooner, but I've been blessed with some one-right-after-the-other kind of discoveries? I think that's the appropriate word; let me explain.

Alright, so the first happy happening was when I received a request for an interview (5.6.20) for a job I applied to way back in March of this year. I know, right? Bizarre! I followed up and after a brief interview, I was made an offer on the spot. So of course, I accepted. To have found a job in these times is a blessing!

Then, what came next was anticipated, sure, but still a happy arrival of information. I received word on my Pen friend (5.11.20)! Why was this such a surprise then if I was anticipating the information? Well, because after I had already requested a pen friend I later wrote again with additional requests like pen friend location, etc. To my very pleasant surprise I received a Pen friend from a region extremely close to where I requested! The first thing I did was begin researching the area and trying to learn more about the culture. I'm very excited to read her first letter and have already been working on personalized stationary and cards to exchange with her. Another blessing!

With all these good vibrations coming my direction I decided to spend my day off continuing my research on the Girl Scout details I wrote to you all about in my last post. I worked through my entire badge and signs book and learned a lot about the badges I might have earned. This research led me to search for a means to purchase the badges I believe I earned; this search lead me to meeting 3 very helpful people.

The first was a lady who specializes in vintage Girl Scout items. She was able to help me learn about the changes that were occurring during the time I was a Junior in scouts. The second was a man who actually has a scouting museum. He helped me find places where I could purchase vintage Girl Scout items to replace the items I lost. The third person was a lady who was selling her and her daughters' old scouting items. She was able to sell me very rare badges from when I was a Junior in scouting and lead me to fiber artists who use the vintage badges to recycle and re-purpose them into beautiful jewelry, quilts, pillows, purses and more! Yet another blessing!

Something I realized while conducting all of this research is as I was working through the booklet and communicating with my new friends, I was remembering things from my childhood! Good memories were flowing in and it is thanks to this journey I've been on with rediscovering my Girl Scouts membership. What an unexpected and fulfilling journey this is. I can't wait to see where it leads me next!
